Fall Research Projects
Neo-Tropical Migrant Bird Banding This was another of our first projects. Members assist with netting, banding , weighing, measuring and releasing migratory birds at Darby Marsh in Port Clinton, Ohio. This closed marsh is part of the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge. If you have a group that would like to visit, please contact Tom Kashmer by clicking here. (see Spring Research Projects page for pictures) Monarch Tagging Capture and tagging of Monarch Butterflies. These butterflies then fly all the way to Mexico where the tagged insects are recovered. See the Monarch Watch Project for more info.
